Gallery: The Reason Everyone Loves Hawaii

Waves, Turtles, Sunsets, Prehistoric Landforms & Aloha
December was saturated with stories, photos and video of Hawaii, mostly coming out of the North Shore of Oahu where the final events of the pro surfing tour were wrapping up. Notably, Pipe Masters was one of the most incredibly emotional events in the sport's history. There is a lot more to the magical islands of the Pacific than what we see in surf media.
36-year-old Corona photographer Craig Parry is from Byron Bay in northern NSW. He is a highly prized adventure, ocean and nature photographer who has always had a natural attraction to the sea. He has spent sessions in the water shooting Kelly Slater, (bucket-list-tickers he has said), as well capturing surf and lifestyle moments of many of the world's top surfers. He loves returning to Hawaii, and on this trip he captured some pretty epic shots.
“I arrived in Oahu on the 28th of January, my good mate and professional surfer Anthony Walsh picked me up and we headed straight to a secret little beach on the west coast for a wake up swim and shoot."
"Over the first week in Oahu I managed to capture some rare images of the Green Turtle swimming through the line up at Pipe and Backdoor and some crazy rainbow mornings in the water."
"The second week I headed up to the Northern Island called Kauai where I hooked up with a local boat charter company and they were kind enough to take me up to the Na Pali coast which was made famous from the movie ‘Jurassic Park’, This coastline was one of the most amazing land forms I have ever seen with the waterfalls running straight into the ocean. Then the last week I headed back to Pipe and focus on my surf photography and aerial imagery. Hope you enjoy this journey through my eyes.” – CP
