Regional morning report for Newcastle: 7.00 am Monday 8th March: Great autumn conditions on offer with leftover SSE groundswell having backed off overnight, now running at a chunky head-high to double-overhead across the region, while light NW winds below five knots are opening up pretty clean conditions wherever you look. Tide is on its way out to an 12.00pm low and it will return to a 6.05 pm high.
Rest of the Day Outlook: SSE swell is dropping by degrees throughout the day and will probably half this morning's size by this afternoon, so it's well worth squeezing ta surf or two in before it dries up. South-facing beaches and sheltered northern corners will be the pick as winds remain out of the north to NE all day. Hooray for Mondays.
